Last night, around the advent candle.
Me: Do you know why Jesus was born? Why did he come?
Hallie: To die on the cross for our sins.
Me: That's right. What is a sin?
Hallie, demonstrating her sarcastic, smarty pants voice: When you say something like, Noooo, I won't do that, nah, nah, nah.
Me, laughing: Thank you for the demonstration. You're right. When you don't obey Mommy and Daddy that is a sin. Do you ever sin?
Hallie: A lot.
Jason and me, in unison: Me too.
Hallie: Do you sin when you're all growed up?
Me: Yes, yes we do. We need Jesus too.
