A Thankful Heart

Today, as Thanksgiving approaches, I'm grateful for the blessings in my life.

I am thankful for a husband who loves me and loves our kids.  He is every bit the husband and father I knew he would be those seven years ago.

I am thankful for a four-year-old who was aptly described as "bubbly" today.

I am thankful for a three-year-old whose huge blue eyes give me warm fuzzies every time I look into them.

I am thankful for the most adorably destructive little boy on the planet.

I am thankful for a stinky dog who likes to snuggle with me.

I am thankful that I'm an oldest child born of oldest children born of oldest children because I've had the distinct privilege of really knowing my young grandparents and great-grandparents.

I am unspeakably thankful for my parents and for their marriage.

I am thankful for my inlaws who have welcomed me with open arms and loved me from the beginning.

I am thankful for siblings and siblings-in-law--and for their little ones who will grow up with mine.

I am thankful for our church--for a pastor who leads with humility and wisdom, a small group who have quickly become so dear to us, a music minister and choir that inspire me to worship, and church members who love on my children so well.

I am thankful for a job.

I am thankful for an imperfect home that fits our family well.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, flowing down from the Father of lights."
