The Lessons of Advent: Joy

This week is the PINK candle.  Which is apparently very exciting!  Ah, the joys of having girls.

Since I was so late in posting my love post, I am resolved to do better this week and plan out our discussion about joy.  Chances are good I will revise this post and add to it as we go along.

JOY

Psalm 66:1

"Shout for joy to God, all the earth!"

What is joy?  Great happiness

What does it mean to "Shout for Joy?"  Do you ever shout for joy?  (If you're Hallie, you spend a lot of time shouting for joy.  I used the example of times when we cheer or say "Yay!!")  What gives you joy/makes you very happy?

Who shouted for joy when Jesus was born?  The angels, who said, "Glory to God in the highest!"  And, "I bring you good news of great joy for all the people!"

What was the good news that would give people great joy?  That God had sent His only Son, Jesus, to be born as a baby and to be their King like He had promised!

We have joy, too, because God always keeps His promises to us.  He has promised to take care of us, to be with us all the time.  And He will keep that promise.  So, no matter what happens, we can always have joy.

Song for the Week:  Joy to the World
